Bridges between Science and the Field
Corporate management sustained only by intuition and shallow formulas costs millions in organisational waste. The work of Dr Leandro Bolzan de Rezende is guided by a clear premise: real efficiency demands pragmatism and scientific evidence. His journey was built by uniting the sophistication of elite academic research in the United Kingdom with the critical responsibility of operational management.
Over more than two decades as a career officer in the Brazilian Army, he managed strategic portfolios and set up project management offices (PMOs) with budgets of great technical complexity and sensitivity. At the Army General Staff, he led the digitalisation of strategic governance to integrate the value chain, strategic planning, the project portfolio, programmes and projects, and the organisational budget.
In the academic field, he completed his doctorate (PhD) in Management of Projects at the University of Manchester (United Kingdom), one of the most prestigious research centres in the world, developing dynamic methods for managing complex projects. This work was internationally honoured with the prestigious IPMA Young Researcher Award - Outstanding Contribution in 2020. He consolidated his education at Lancaster University (United Kingdom) with a postdoctorate in organisational efficiency and AI applied to business, and advanced courses in systems engineering at the University of Oxford (United Kingdom) and at ITA (Brazil), as well as training in performance management, budgeting, lifecycle costing and defence logistics at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS, USA).
The founding of Palatine Academy is the result of consolidating this path. It exists to transfer the international scientific cutting edge and the discipline of military planning to executives, directors and project managers who seek results of real impact.
